We are delighted to report that the Hibernian Historical Trust Tour as part of the 2013 Leith Festival was a tremendous success.
The feedback we got from supporters was fantastic, thank you to all those got in touch via our Facebook and Twitter accounts and the positive messages on the fans forums.
We are delighted to report that we surpassed last year's tour visitor numbers with well in excess of 2000 Hibees and members of the Leith community enjoying the beautiful day at Easter Road Stadium.
As well as a sample of the Hibernian Historical Trust's collection, visitors got to see behind the scenes in the West Stand including the Captains and Players Lounge, the Hibernian Boardroom, both the home and away dressing room as well a walk out of the tunnel to see, from pitch level, the impressive Easter Road stadium - Walking in the footsteps of club legends and fans favourites alike.
The Hibernian Historical Trust would also like to thank the generosity of the visitors to the tours. On the day we raised over £750.00. These will be used to help the work of the trust and to allow us to help collect and preserve items of interest and relevance to the club's history.
At this point the Trust would like to extend our thanks to the club for their support and once again allowing us to use the stadium for trust events, meetings and for the collection of Hibernian related artefacts that help promote the history of our great club.
The event was also covered in the national press, profiling the work of the trust and the club historian Tom Wright.
