The half dozen bottles of Hibernian whisky form a unique addition to the Trust's archives.

Purchased by a fan at a charity golf auction and donated to the Trust, each bottle, complete with its own wooden box, represents an individual game from Hibs successful CIS League Cup campaign in 2007.

The bottles bear the date, score and team line up from each of the games against Peterhead, Gretna, Hearts, the semi final against St Johnstone and the final itself when Kilmarnock were defeated 5-1 at Hampden Park. The sixth bottle commemorates winning the trophy itself.

The original auction item commemorated famous Golf Open Championship wins, but the successful bidder asked if the bottles could be engraved as above instead. As such the collection is unique, and the Historical Trust is delighted at the acquisition.

Hibernian lifted the CIS Insurance League Cup on 18 March 2007 - in front of a Hampden crowd of 52,000. Hibernian's goals in a 5-1 win were scored by Steven Fletcher (2), Benji (2), and Rob Jones.

The team that day was as follows:

Andy McNeil, Steven Whittaker, Chris Hogg, Rob Jones (C), David Murphy, Lewis Stevenson, Guillaume Beuzelin, Scott Brown, Ivan Sproule, Abdessalam Benjelloun and Steven Fletcher

Subs (used): Merouane Zemmama, Kevin McCann and Shelton Martis
