He only made 15 appearances for the Club, however it's two 3-2 wins over Rangers which really caught the eye amongst the Hibernian support. The first appearance came in a Ladbrokes Championship meeting, which saw him net his first goal for the club, smashin in the third goal in a home victory over the Gers in April 2016.

The second will be remembered more fondly though, as Gunnarsson came on as a late substitute in the 2016 Scottish Cup Final victory at Hampden Park, replacing Paul Hanlon with seven minutes remaining.

Gunnarsson was awarded with a senior international debut for Norway in recognition for his performances in May 2016, coming on as a substitute against Portugal in a UEFA Euro 2016 warm up match in Porto.
