Elected President of the SFA and recognised as a legislator of exceptional ability with amazing foresight, Swan sold Hibernian to William Harrower in 1963 after almost 30 years at the helm. He was unanimously elected a life time director in recognition of his services to, and on behalf of, Hibernian Football Club.
